I had just planned on throwing some bread and rolls away that were left from a picnic we had had the weekend before when my husband came up with the great idea of taking our daughter and grandson down to Dobbin's Landing to feed the ducks! While they enjoyed the feast I noticed some of the ducks sticking their heads under the water and coming up to spread their wings and dry off. The sun was starting to go down and the light played nicely off the beautiful mallards. I thought I'd like to get a few shots of this activity and waited and watched for a duck that seemed to be "dunking" itself. My patience paid off and I did get a few shots of this Mallard Ballet.
I can't wait to get back home and back to Presque Isle for walks and getting photos. Wishing the people I am staying with were birders. The ballet mallards look great.
Hello and welcome to my blog, or as I prefer to call it, my Phlog! I am using the term "phlog" (which I expect to make it into Webster's someday:)) because the primary purpose of this blog is to share photos rather than thoughts. As many of you can attest, I have way more photos to share than thoughts! Before I get started sharing though I should thank my new friend and world renowned blogger herself, Toni Kelly, for turning me onto this blogging thing and to blogger.com. Thank you Toni!!
I hope you enjoy the photos I am sharing here and that they bring you even a small percentage of the joy I get while taking them. I love being knee deep (O.K., elbow deep) in nature and if I can capture the beauty around us in some very small way through my photography that's just icing on the cake. Thanks for dropping by and please come back again!
